RENEWING OUR MINDS 2025
SUMMER GATHERING
The 2025 Renewing Our Minds (ROM) Gathering will take place at Život je Više in Tuk, Croatia, from Sunday, August 3rd to Friday, August 15th, 2025.
Background
Since its founding in 1999, ROM has been an initiative that impacted Southeast Europe for change, focusing on peacebuilding, dialogue, and reconciliation, as well as encouraging lasting friendships and leadership with integrity.
The vision and mission of ROM are built on the teachings and example of Jesus, a unique person who has inspired millions, irrespective of their religions or worldviews. By participating in the 2025 ROM Gathering, you will participate in a unique journey that will inspire and enrich you, motivate you to make a positive difference in your country and community, and motivate you to become a radical leader in service to others.
Program
At this gathering you will meet an international team of leaders, mentors, speakers, and facilitators; all persons of integrity with rich experience in the fields of politics, media, business, religion, education, and the arts. The program also includes small group activities, creative workshops, community service projects, and excursions; as well as music, games, sports, recreation; time for relaxation and quiet reflection, and much more.
The entire program is conducted in English, therefore participants are required to have Intermediate or advanced English skills. Program sessions will NOT be translated into the native languages of those attending.
Cost
The price of participation, including full room and board, and all other program expenses, is €600 per person. However, even though the price is already subsidized, we only ask that those living in the Balkans or other economically disadvantaged areas pay a discounted rate of €300. Early bird discounts are also available.
How to Apply
If you can dedicate twelve days of your life this summer to an amazing learning and peacebuilding experience in an international community of 60+ young leaders, please submit your application for consideration no later than June 15, 2025. Please write to rom@forumforleadership.org if you have any additional questions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is invited?
Anyone ages 18-35 with good English skills and an interest in reconciliation, peacebuilding, community transformation, and similar topics. Traditionally participants have been mostly from the countries of ex-Yugoslavia and neighboring countries (Romania, Albania, Bulgaria) but participants from other parts of Europe and the world are also welcome.
How much does it cost?
The subsidized cost is 600 euros per person, and it includes all accommodations, food, excursions and materials for 12 days. It does not include travel to and from Tuk, and does not include travel insurance or any other personal expenses.
What if I can't afford to pay 600 euros?
The price of 600 euros is already subsidized, however there is an early bird price of 500 euros for those who pay the registration fee by May 31, 2025. There is also a discounted registration fee of 300 euros available to participants from the Balkans or other economically struggling regions (who are also eligible for an early bird price of 250 euros before May 31, 2025). If you are unsure what fee applies to you or would like to request further financial assistance, please email us at rom@forumforleadership.org.
How much do children pay?
Children ages 5 and under don't pay anything. We ask that children ages 6-14 pay half the cost that their parents are paying, if at all possible. If this is an issue or you have any questions, please email us at rom@forumforleadership.org.
Is it possible to get a scholarship to cover transportation costs?
Unfortunately, no. We can, however, if possible, connect you with other participants traveling from your country/region and you can work together to try to find the most affordable transportation option.
If I fly, can you pick me up at the airport?
Unfortunately, in most cases airport pick-ups will not be possible. We can offer transportation from the nearby town of Delnice, where most buses on the Zagreb-Rijeka route stop, as well as from the train station in Lokve.
Can I bring my husband/wife/ kids/family?
If your spouse is interested in the program and able to participate, they are welcome to apply. We have limited space for families with children so our ability to accept entire families is not guaranteed.
How do I register?
Please register as soon as possible through this link.
Space is limited!
What if I can't come for the whole time?
ROM is a journey, and we feel that it is important for those attending for the first time to have the "full experience," therefore we are reluctant to accept participants who are unable to stay for the whole time, except under special circumstances. Please write to us if you feel this applies to you at rom@forumforleadership.org.
Why did you choose Tuk?
For a variety of reasons we have had to move on from ROM's home for many years in Fuzine, Croatia. When looking for alternative locations we started nearby and found a lovely guesthouse in the picturesque village of Tuk. The quiet, peaceful atmosphere provides excellent opportunities for peace and reflection, while also located ideally for hiking, sports, and other outdoor activities. Tuk is also just a 45 minute drive from the Croatian coast and we are planning two group excursions to the coast during our program.
What if I need a visa for Croatia?
You are responsible for researching whether you need a visa and how to obtain one. If you need any support from us (such as an invitation letter) please email us at rom@forumforleadership.org.
What is a typical day at the ROM gathering like?
A typical day would include 2-3 dynamic talks on the day's topic from our excellent speakers (see above) between breakfast and lunch, a small group discussion session, free time with the option of sports, hikes, or possibly a short outing to a nearby town, and a more entertaining or interactive session in the evening. The program will also include two excursions to the coast, and unique sessions and activities to further aid team-building and learning.
What can we expect from our accommodations?
The Život je više guesthouse in Tuk is newly-renovated and comfortable. Accommodations will be in rooms of 4-6 people of the same gender with private bathrooms, except in the case of married couples. Meals will be home-cooked, and we will have a team in charge of cleaning, but all of us will have to pitch in a little to help keep things organized and tidy.
